The 'live' program begins with SCENIUS: the keynote address from Brian Eno.
Almost everyone has encountered the work of Brian Eno. Few artists move with as much ease across the continuum between fine art and popular music. A founding member of Roxy Music, he went on to release a string of seminal solo albums that defined the genre 'Ambient' music. He is also one of the most significant record producers of our age, having worked with artists like U2 and Talking Heads.
From the outset of his career, Eno has insisted he is a 'non musician' and that his contribution to music comes from a visual response. It's not then surprising that parallel to his music career lays an equally remarkable exploration of the visual arts. Much of his work pursues an interest in painting with light, using digital technology to create pieces that are constantly evolving. Over the past thirty years, Eno has exhibited around the world, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Venice Biennale, and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. Brian Eno is truly unique - both as an artist and as a musician. He is an innovator, an architect of new ideas, a father to new ways of thinking. He is a living legend.
